New Permanent Opportunity for a Principal/Lead AWS Architect for a leading Public Sector Consultancy in Bristol. Bristol location – 2x site visits per month. Must be eligible for SC or hold an active SC. Up to £95k DoE plus benefits and bonuses.

Experience required in AWS Architecture, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and Leadership.

What will the Lead AWS Cloud Architect be doing?

  • Design secure, scalable AWS cloud architectures using modern patterns.
  • Manage Kubernetes and Kafka for containerisation and real-time systems.
  • Implement CI/CD, automation, and optimise performance and cost.
  • Ensure cloud security, compliance, and risk mitigation.
  • Lead teams and align architecture with business objectives.
  • Maintain clear documentation and enforce architectural best practices.

The Lead AWS Cloud Architect should have:

  • Active SC or eligibility to obtain – must be a British passport holder.
  • A background in Cloud Architecture and prior public sector consultancy experience is preferred.
  • Extensive experience designing large-scale AWS cloud systems with strong security practices.
  • Proficient in Kubernetes, Docker, and event-driven architectures using Kafka.
  • Skilled in Java-based microservices, CI/CD, IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation), and automation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of monitoring, cost optimisation, serverless (AWS Lambda), and architectural frameworks like TOGAF.
