The Penetration Tester Role
As the Penetration Tester you will carry out a full range of technical security assessments across infrastructure, applications and networks, using manual and automated techniques to help identify and manage vulnerabilities. You will contribute to research activity, maintain current knowledge of threat trends, produce clear reports and communicate findings effectively to technical and non–technical stakeholders. You will also support specialist assessments, security management consultancy and compliance–based work when required.
Penetration Tester Essential Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 to 3 years) in an IT security role at CTM level
- CHECK Team Member qualification (CREST or CyberScheme)
- Strong knowledge of penetration testing tools, for example BurpSuite, Metasploit and Nmap
- Solid understanding of Windows and NIX environments
- Ability to configure network devices, firewalls, IDS or IPS and wireless technologies
- Experience working with cloud environments, for example AWS or Azure
- Strong reporting skills and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly
- Understanding of GDPR, ISO27001 and PCI DSS
- Hold active SC clearance
