Our client is a global leader in engineering and design, supporting sustainable infrastructure and buildings for high-profile clients across the public and private sectors. Their Building Design Practice is rapidly growing and delivering complex multi-disciplinary projects across Defence, Education, Commercial and Transportation sectors. Due to an increase in workload, they are looking to appoint a Senior or Principal Electrical Design Engineer to contribute to national and international delivery programmes from their Epsom office.

THE SENIOR / PRINCIPAL ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER ROLE:

  • Lead or support design and specification of electrical building services: lighting, power, life safety, telecoms, security, access, and more
  • Use software tools such as Amtech, Dialux/Relux, and Revit in collaboration with BIM teams
  • Contribute to sustainable design and decarbonisation strategies for new and existing buildings
  • Interface with clients and manage project delivery, reporting, and site inspections
  • Mentor junior staff and work with global delivery teams to achieve high-quality outcomes

SENIOR / PRINCIPAL ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Degree in Electrical/Building Services Engineering
  • Chartered Engineer (CIBSE or IET)
  • Strong working knowledge of Amtech/ProDesign, Dialux/Relux, NBS, and Revit
  • Experience working in a consultancy or contractor design environment
  • Deep understanding of UK technical standards, sustainable design, and building physics
  • Experience supporting large projects in sectors like Defence, Education, or Commercial
  • Excellent communication, project coordination and client-facing skills
