ECOLOGIST

  • £16.82 per hour (via Umbrella)
  • Initial 12-month contract
  • Hybrid working – based in Epsom

ABOUT THE CLIENT:

Our client is a leading consultancy known for delivering innovative environmental solutions across nationally significant infrastructure projects. With a reputation for biodiversity enhancements, collaboration, and award-winning performance, their ecology team has been consistently recognised for excellence. Due to ongoing project growth, they are seeking a contract Ecologist to join their Cardiff team in South Wales.

THE ECOLOGIST ROLE:

  • Collaborating with our multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Planning, coordinating and undertaking field surveys; analysing and interpreting survey results.
  • Ecological Clerk of Works.

ECOLOGIST ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Ecology or a related discipline
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
  • Field Identification Skills Certificate (FISC) Level 3 or above (desirable), or be able to demonstrate that skills are equivalent to this.
  • Strong protected species survey skills, including demonstrable competency to capable level in line with CIEEM’s Competency Framework to lead protected species surveys is essential, particularly for hazel dormouse.
  • Protected species survey licence(s) are desirable but not essential.
  • Strong collaborative behaviours to interface with multi-disciplinary teams and other stakeholders.
  • A full UK/EEC driving licence.
