New Permanent Opportunity for a Senior DevOps Engineer for a leading Public Sector Consultancy in the Southwest.

  • Bristol/Cheltenham location – hybrid working model
  • Must either hold active SC or be eligible to obtain in the role
  • Up to £70k DoE plus benefits and bonuses
  • Experience required in AWS, CI/CD Pipelines, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and Mentoring

Who are we?

Our client is a leading Public Sector consultancy and trusted partner to the UK Government. They are a technology and consulting firm delivering services in business intelligence, cloud, cyber-security and digital solutions. They work extensively within the public sector, supporting central government, defence, policing, transport and local authorities.

What will the Senior DevOps Engineer be doing?

The successful candidate will design, build and enhance our AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring it is secure, scalable and reliable.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building, maintaining and optimising AWS cloud infrastructure for performance, resilience and cost efficiency.
  • Managing Kubernetes clusters and related tools (e.g. Docker, Helm).
  • Automating deployment, monitoring, testing and maintenance workflows.
  • Implementing robust security, compliance and disaster recovery practices.
  • Proactively monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure and application issues.
  • Guiding and mentoring junior DevOps engineers.

The Senior DevOps Engineer should have:

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS, automation and DevOps, with a passion for technology, problem-solving and collaboration.

Experience in the following:

  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • Configuration management and automation
  • CI/CD pipeline development and management
  • Containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)
  • Monitoring and logging (CloudWatch, ELK, Grafana)
  • Programming in at least one language
