Our client is a major player in highly regulated engineering environments, delivering cutting-edge mechanical solutions across critical infrastructure projects. With a secure, long-term programme of work, they’re seeking a Contract Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and safe decommissioning of highly secure facilities.

THE CONTRACT MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER ROLE:
You’ll deliver detailed mechanical design and engineering support for decommissioning programmes across highly secure facilities. From concept to delivery, you’ll lead mechanical design packages, liaise with cross-functional teams, and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Experience within secure or high-hazard industries is highly desirable.
CONTRACT MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks
- Minimum 2 years' experience in mechanical design
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar (or ONC/OND + experience)
- Strong grasp of engineering standards and regulatory compliance
- Excellent technical reporting and documentation skills
- Must hold active UK Security Clearance (SC or higher)
