NEW CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY WITH AN ESTABLISHED IT CONSULTANCY FOR A 2ND LINE SUPPORT ENGINEER WITH DV SECURITY CLEARANCE

Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled 2nd Line Support Engineer with active DV clearance to join our client's team in Birmingham. This is a full-time, on-site role supporting a secure environment and requires a candidate with a strong technical background and the ability to work under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 2nd line technical support across a secure infrastructure

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues

  • Escalate complex problems to 3rd line or specialist teams where necessary

  • Maintain documentation and update support tickets

  • Support patching, upgrades, and deployments as needed

  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and standards

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Active DV clearance (Developed Vetting – essential)

  • Proven experience in a 2nd line support role

  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, and basic networking

  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and service management tools

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a secure, government or defence-related environment

  • Certifications such as CompTIA, ITIL, or Microsoft (MCP/MCSA)
