Our client is a global aerospace and engineering organisation delivering complex infrastructure, facilities, and capital investment programmes across highly regulated environments. They are seeking an experienced Building & Construction Project Leader to manage the delivery of CAPEX projects from initial feasibility through design, construction, and final handover. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of building services, refurbishment, and infrastructure projects within a large-scale operational environment.
As Building & Construction Project Leader, you will be responsible for leading capital investment projects from inception and feasibility through detailed design, construction delivery, commissioning, and handover. You will establish and manage Multi-Functional Project Teams, coordinating internal stakeholders and external consultants to ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on time, and within budget.
The role will involve developing business cases, managing project delivery plans, overseeing risk and opportunity management, monitoring contractor performance, and ensuring technical compliance throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with clients, architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, CDM representatives, and construction partners, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships while ensuring all works comply with company procedures, health and safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:- Proven Project Management experience delivering construction or building services projects
- Experience managing CAPEX projects from feasibility through to handover
- Strong stakeholder management and client engagement skills
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams
- Building Services, Facilities Management, Construction, or Infrastructure project experience
- Ability to develop project scopes, design briefs, and business cases
- Experience managing project risks, budgets, schedules, and reporting
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services
- Experience monitoring construction works and contractor performance on site
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and construction compliance requirements
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Experience using project management tools and reporting systems
- ONC, HNC, or equivalent qualification within a Building Services or Engineering discipline
- Eligible for SC Clearance
- Facilities Management sector experience
- Defence or highly regulated industry experience
- Client-side project management experience
- Consultancy background
- SMSTS certification
- CCNSG certification
- NEBOSH qualification
- Professional membership such as CIBSE, IMechE, or IET
- Experience using MS Project, SharePoint, and G Suite
