ABOUT THE CLIENT
Our client operates within a highly complex manufacturing environment where operational excellence, quality and continuous improvement are critical to success. They are seeking an experienced Technical Shopfloor Support professional to work closely with production teams, providing end-to-end technical support at shopfloor level and driving process efficiency improvements.
THE TECHNICAL SHOPFLOOR SUPPORT ROLE
As Technical Shopfloor Support, you will accompany the production team daily, providing line-side technical assistance and ensuring smooth production enablement. You will identify, analyse and resolve recurrent technical issues that cannot be managed by operators or First Line Managers, escalating to specialist functions where required. You will support work order management, capacity planning, industrial asset management (including jigs and tools), and continuous improvement activities aligned to Lean principles. This role also supports Quality, Logistics and Environment, Health & Safety standards, ensuring compliance and operational consistency across the shopfloor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide daily line-side technical support to resolve production issues
- Manage missing parts, non-conformities, concessions and outstanding work
- Support work order prioritisation and blocked work escalation
- Assist with capacity management and production control
- Support continuous improvement and waste elimination (Lean)
- Contribute to the design, modification and calibration of jigs and tools
- Ensure EHS and quality standards are adhered to on station
- Support logistics prioritisation for rework and production materials
- Engage with stakeholders across production, maintenance and engineering teams
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Extensive experience within an Aerospace manufacturing environment
- Strong practical problem-solving ability
- Experience supporting production teams at shopfloor level
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles
- Strong organisational and analytical skills
- Experience using SAP
- Effective stakeholder management
- Flexible and adaptable to changing production demands
