ABOUT THE CLIENT
Our client is a leading organisation within the UK defence sector, delivering complex engineering solutions across high-security programmes. They are currently supporting a major naval-focused project and require experienced MBSE Systems Engineers to join their team, contributing to critical subsystem design and architecture activities.
THE MBSE SYSTEMS ENGINEER ROLE:
As an MBSE Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering systems engineering capability into a major defence programme. You will focus on developing subsystem design definition artefacts, working within cross-functional teams to capture system architecture using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches. The role will also involve requirements elicitation and definition, alongside potential involvement in verification planning activities. You will work closely with engineering teams to ensure robust, traceable, and high-quality system designs across the project lifecycle.
MBSE SYSTEMS ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Strong experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Expertise in requirements elicitation and definition
- Hands-on experience with DOORS / DOORS NG or similar requirements tools
- Experience with configuration management tools and processes
- Background in systems architecture and subsystem design
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Experience within UK defence or military projects
- Exposure to naval systems
- Familiarity with IBM toolset (DOORS NG, Rhapsody, Engineering Workflow Management)
- Understanding of verification and validation processes
