ABOUT THE CLIENT:
Our client is the world’s largest helicopter manufacturer, with its UK base at Oxford Airport serving as the civil rotary-wing hub. Supporting both civil and military sectors, they are the chosen provider for the MoD’s Defence Helicopter Flying School (MFTS), operating out of RAF Shawbury and RAF Valley. As part of this critical programme, they are looking to hire an Aircraft Electrical Fitter to provide front-line engineering and maintenance support for the H135/H145 rotary fleet.
THE AIRCRAFT ELECTRICAL FITTER ROLE:
You will support daily flight operations and aircraft availability at RAF Valley through both Line and Base Maintenance activities. Responsibilities include completing inspections, repairs, system checks, and assisting with the safe movement of aircraft in and out of hangars. You’ll work under supervision and in coordination with Certifying Engineers and supervisors, while also maintaining clean, safe workspaces in accordance with maintenance documentation and aviation regulations.
AIRCRAFT ELECTRICAL FITTER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Apprenticeship in Aircraft Maintenance or related discipline
- Strong knowledge of electrical and avionic systems
- Familiar with aircraft flight operations, line and base maintenance procedures
- Experience with base maintenance and hands-on technical operations
- Comfortable using specialist test equipment related to electrical/avionic systems
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working on H135 helicopters
- Background in military aviation or knowledge of UK MFTS
- Familiarity with EASA Part 145 and Part M compliance
- Prior experience working with Airbus Helicopters products
