The Role
We're looking for an IT Support Engineer to join a growing Managed IT Services provider supporting a range of SME clients across London and Surrey.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll gain exposure across 1st, 2nd and 3rd Line IT Support, working across Microsoft technologies, networking, infrastructure and cloud environments.
You'll be responsible for resolving day-to-day technical issues, assisting with more complex escalations and supporting senior engineers with client projects, migrations and infrastructure work.
This is a great opportunity for someone who already has a solid foundation in IT Support and wants to continue developing their technical skills within an MSP environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd Line IT Support to a range of clients.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network and infrastructure issues.
- Support Microsoft 365 and Modern Workplace environments.
- Administer Active Directory, user accounts, permissions and Group Policy.
- Support Windows 10/11 desktop environments.
- Troubleshoot networking issues including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VPNs.
- Manage support tickets through to resolution and escalate complex issues where required.
- Assist senior engineers with Microsoft 365, cloud and infrastructure migrations.
- Support the delivery of client IT projects.
- Configure and deploy laptops, desktops and other IT equipment.
- Work directly with clients both remotely and onsite.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and ticket updates.
- Develop knowledge across cloud, infrastructure, networking and cyber security technologies.
What We're Looking For
- Previous commercial experience within an IT Support, Helpdesk, Service Desk or IT Engineer position.
- Experience providing support across 1st, 2nd and ideally some 3rd Line issues.
- Strong Microsoft 365 knowledge.
- Experience with Active Directory.
- Good Windows 10/11 troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VPNs.
- Experience managing support tickets and troubleshooting technical issues.
- MSP or Managed Services experience would be highly beneficial.
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Intune or Modern Workplace technologies would be advantageous.
- Experience supporting migrations or IT projects would be beneficial.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable dealing directly with clients and visiting customer sites.
- A genuine desire to develop technically and progress into a more senior engineering position.
