Due to continued growth, they're looking for an experienced Subcontracts Manufacturing Manager to take ownership of subcontract manufacturing planning, supplier performance and production scheduling across a complex engineering environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring critical products are delivered On-Time-In-Full while working alongside engineering, programme management, supply chain and production teams.
THE SUBCONTRACTS MANUFACTURING MANAGER ROLE
As the Subcontracts Manufacturing Manager, you'll become the central point of contact for planning subcontract manufacturing activities, ensuring production demands are met through effective supplier management, ERP/MRP planning and cross-functional collaboration.
You'll work closely with Production, Supply Chain, Engineering and Programme Management teams to ensure materials, subcontract builds and production schedules remain on track while driving continuous improvement across supplier performance and manufacturing processes.
You'll be responsible for
- Planning subcontract manufacturing activities to ensure customer orders are delivered On-Time-In-Full (OTIF)
- Managing production demand in collaboration with Production Planners and Project Managers
- Raising subcontract manufacturing requirements and coordinating external build schedules
- Working closely with Supply Chain to ensure materials are available when required
- Monitoring production status and driving mitigation plans where risks arise
- Managing subcontractor capacity and production schedules
- Negotiating delivery plans and resolving supplier issues
- Driving supplier improvement initiatives alongside Manufacturing Engineering and Supply Chain
- Maintaining inventory, work in progress and ERP/MRP planning accuracy
- Supporting continuous improvement across manufacturing planning processes
WE NEED YOU TO HAVE...
- Extensive experience within Manufacturing Planning, Production Planning or Supply Chain
- Experience managing subcontract manufacturers or external suppliers
- Six Sigma experience
- Strong ERP/MRP planning experience (IFS highly desirable)
- Excellent stakeholder management and supplier negotiation skills
- Experience working within manufacturing or engineering environments
- Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU ALSO HAD...

- CPIM qualification
