We are recruiting a Senior AI/ML Engineer with strong computer vision and deep learning experience for a highly technical AI organisation delivering advanced machine learning technologies across Defence, Security and other high-performance environments. You’ll work alongside AI researchers, software engineers and technical leadership to transform cutting-edge research into robust, production-ready AI solutions. The role offers the opportunity to work on challenging computer vision applications deployed across both large-scale cloud environments and edge platforms.

What will the Senior AI/ML Engineer be doing?

  • You will design, develop and optimise advanced computer vision solutions using CNNs, Vision Transformers and modern deep learning techniques.
  • You’ll develop customised neural network architectures, training strategies and evaluation methods, while translating state-of-the-art research into production-quality software.
  • The role will involve building scalable training, validation and inference pipelines, optimising models for edge and cloud deployment, and contributing to software architecture and engineering best practice.
  • You’ll work closely with researchers, software engineers and customers to deliver innovative AI solutions for demanding real-world applications.

Key Skills and Requirements

  • Strong Python/PyTorch development and production AI/ML experience.
  • Expert knowledge of CNNs, Vision Transformers and modern computer vision.
  • Experience developing custom neural networks, training strategies and AI research techniques.
  • Strong software engineering skills including Git, testing and CI/CD.
  • Experience with object detection, tracking, segmentation and real-time/edge AI.
  • Knowledge of GPU optimisation, Docker, Kubernetes and MLOps.
  • Experience with aerial/satellite/ISR imagery and/or Defence environments highly desirable.
  • MSc/PhD in AI, Computer Vision or ML or equivalent commercial experience.
