Are you a driven and experienced Fabrication Workshop Manager looking for an opportunity to lead and optimise a manufacturing operation? Our client has the perfect career opportunity for you if this is a YES.

We are looking for a highly motivated and hands-on individual to take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of our production facility, overseeing the manufacture of our specialist range of steel fabrications for their Tier 1 customers. As a key member of the management team, you will report directly to the Operations Manager and play a pivotal role in ensuring efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement in our production processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Lead and motivate the production team, ensuring targets and deadlines are met.
    • Oversee production planning, purchasing, and stock control to maintain smooth operations.
    • Manage staff rotas, annual leave, and workforce development.
  • Operational & Process Improvement
    • Implement effective purchasing strategies to maintain stock availability and cost efficiency.
    • Continuously seek improvements in production efficiency and workflow.
    • Identify and address non-conformities, reducing errors and waste.
  • Quality & Compliance
    • Ensure quality control throughout the production process, conducting final checks before dispatch.
    • Maintain a safe and compliant working environment, adhering to company policies and procedures.
    • Support product development by sourcing alternative materials and components for cost and quality optimisation.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or production management role.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Hands-on approach with exceptional communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, stock levels, and production schedules effectively.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Proficient using AutoCAD (preferred not essential).
