About the role

You will play a key role in the launch of a brand-new Scottish depot for a global logistics organisation. As an experienced Transport Planner, you'll have a real opportunity to influence processes from the start, helping to shape how the depot operates while ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective transport planning. This is an excellent opportunity if you enjoy building something new, taking ownership, and working in a fast-paced transport environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Planning and scheduling transport operations to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries
  • Optimising routes and loads to maximise efficiency and minimise costs
  • Coordinating with drivers, warehouse teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Monitoring driver hours and ensuring compliance with transport legislation
  • Responding to operational issues and resolving problems quickly and effectively
  • Supporting the setup and development of transport processes in a new depot environment

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience as a Transport Planner (essential)
  • Strong knowledge of UK transport regulations and driver hours
  • Ability to plan efficiently in a high-volume, time-critical environment
  • Confident communicator with strong organisational skills
  • Comfortable working with transport planning systems and IT tools
  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach and ability to work independently
