Search Consultancy is currently recruiting for an experienced Telehandler Operator (CPCS / NPORS) to join a busy commercial project in Northumberland. This position offers an immediate start with a consistent run of work for the right candidate. We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious operator who can efficiently manage site materials and support various trades to keep the project moving on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Safely and efficiently operating a telescopic handler to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment across the site.
- Loading & Unloading: Unloading delivery vehicles, checking goods against delivery notes, and safely transporting materials to designated storage areas or work faces.
- Trade Support: Distributing materials (such as bricks, timber, and steel) to various trades on-site to ensure minimal disruption to their workflow.
- Pre-use Inspections: Conducting daily vehicle checks (including oil, water, tyres, and hydraulics), logging defect reports, and ensuring the machine is kept clean and fit for purpose.
- Site Mobility: Navigating challenging terrain and tight spaces safely, while being constantly aware of ground conditions and changes to the site layout.
- H&S Compliance: Adhering strictly to site speed limits, lifting plans, and safety regulations, including working in conjunction with a vehicle banksman when required.
Requirements
- CPCS / NPORS Card: A valid CPCS card (Blue preferred) or NPORS card with the Telescopic Handler category.
- Medical Fitness: Must hold a valid Safety Critical Medical certificate (Fit for Work).
- Experience: Proven track record operating telehandlers on busy commercial, civil engineering, or housing sites.
- PPE: Standard site 5-point PPE (Hard hat, high-vis, safety boots, gloves, and glasses).
- Reference: Ability to provide a reference from a recent telehandling role.
- Right to Work: Valid right to work in the UK.
