Location: Taunton / Bristol (Hybrid - Minimum 3 Days on Site)

Rate: Circa £550 per day (Inside IR35 - Negotiable for the Right Candidate)

Contract: Temporary

Duration: 3rd August 2026 - 29th January 2027

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00

Search Recruitment's Transmission & Distribution team is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a major energy infrastructure programme with one of the UK's leading utility contractors. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor with experience in utilities, power, civil engineering or infrastructure projects to join a busy commercial team on a long-term contract.

The Role:

  • Working alongside Commercial and Project Managers, you'll be responsible for supporting the commercial delivery of multiple projects, ensuring robust cost control, contract administration and commercial governance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation of commercial reports, claims and contractual documentation.
  • Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts, including valuations, variations, payments and final accounts.
  • Monitor project risks and maintain commercial risk registers.
  • Assist with compensation events, contractual claims and change management.
  • Produce accurate cost reporting, forecasting and profitability analysis.
  • Attend project and commercial meetings, providing commercial support to operational teams.
  • Develop and maintain commercial records, documentation and best practice procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams to maximise commercial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within utilities, power, infrastructure or civil engineering.
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts and commercial management.
  • Experience managing subcontractor accounts, valuations and compensation events.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and financial reporting skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider commercial team.
