Search Recruitment's Transmission & Distribution team is currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support a major energy infrastructure programme with one of the UK's leading utility contractors. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor with experience in utilities, power, civil engineering or infrastructure projects to join a well-established commercial team on a long-term contract.
The Role: Working alongside Senior Quantity Surveyors, Commercial Managers and Project Managers, you'll play a key role in the commercial management of projects, helping to control costs, manage subcontractors and maximise project profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation of commercial reports, claims and contractual documentation.
- Assist with the management of subcontractor and supplier accounts, including quotations, valuations, variations, claims and final accounts.
- Monitor commercial risks and maintain project risk registers.
- Support the management of compensation events, contract changes and commercial claims.
- Assist with cost reporting, forecasting and financial performance across projects.
- Attend project and commercial meetings, providing commercial support to operational teams.
- Develop and maintain commercial records and documentation.
- Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within utilities, power, infrastructure or civil engineering.
- Good understanding of NEC contracts and commercial management principles.
- Experience managing subcontractor accounts, valuations and commercial reporting.
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with project and commercial teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial reporting systems.
