Search Consultancy is looking for an experienced Electrical Mate to join our busy construction teams across Sunderland. We are partnering with leading M&E contractors on a variety of commercial and industrial projects that require reliable support and high-quality installation work. The Role

  • Installation Support: Assisting Electricians with the installation of containment systems, including tray, trunking, and conduit.
  • Wiring & Pulling: Helping with cable pulling, wire stripping, and basic terminations under the supervision of a qualified sparky.
  • Site Organisation: Ensuring all materials and tools are ready for the task at hand and maintaining a tidy work area to ensure site safety.
  • Technical Assistance: Assisting with the mounting of fixtures, fittings, and electrical components.
  • Productivity Driven: We need mates who are used to the pace of busy construction sites and can help keep the electrical program moving efficiently.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: ECS/CSCS Card is mandatory. Relevant electrical qualifications (Level 2 or 3) are highly desirable.
  • CSCS Card: A valid Blue or Gold card is mandatory.
  • Experience: Proven experience working as an Electrical Mate on commercial or industrial sites.
  • Tools & PPE: Must have your own basic hand tools and full 5-point PPE (Hard Hat, High-Vis, Steel Toe Boots, etc.).
  • Reliability: A strong work ethic and the ability to work as part of a high-performing M&E team.
  • Right to Work: Must have a valid right to work in the UK.
