The Opportunity
Search Consultancy is looking for a skilled and experienced Joiner for a busy commercial project in Hebburn. Initially focusing on the installation and upgrading of fire doors, this role will seamlessly transition into comprehensive 2nd fix finishing work as the project progresses. If you have a keen eye for detail, a strong background in life-safety timber installations, and want a consistent 40-hour week with a reputable main contractor, this is an ideal fit.
Your Role & Responsibilities
- Fire Door Installation: Hanging, swinging, and upgrading fire doors. Fitting intumescent strips, smoke seals, closers, and compliant ironmongery to strict fire safety regulations.
- 2nd Fix Joinery: Moving onto standard 2nd fix duties including fitting skirting boards, architraves, internal doors, and window boards to a high standard of finish.
- Precision Finishing: Ensuring all installations are level, plumb, and flawlessly finished, ready for handover or the decoration phase.
- Compliance & Quality: Following structural and architectural drawings meticulously to ensure all work passes rigorous quality and safety inspections.
- Material Management: Measuring accurately to minimise waste and maintaining a clean, organised workspace.
What We're Looking For
- CSCS Card: A valid CSCS card (Blue Skilled Worker preferred) is a mandatory requirement.
- Fire Door Expertise: Proven experience installing fire doors and a solid understanding of current fire safety compliance is essential for the first phase of this job.
- Tools & PPE: Must have your own comprehensive kit of 110v/cordless power tools, hand tools, and standard 5-point PPE.
- Reliability: A strong work ethic, high standards of workmanship, and the ability to commit to a full 40-hour working week.
- Right to Work: Must have a valid right to work in the UK.
