The Opportunity

Search Consultancy is looking for a highly skilled and safety-conscious Fire Stopper for a major contract in Sunderland. We are partnering with an established contractor who values quality, precision, and fully compliant installations. This role is perfect for a specialist operative who holds advanced access and safety tickets and wants to secure a highly competitive rate with a professional outfit that respects the trade. Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Working on a well-managed development in Sunderland, you will be responsible for installing critical passive fire protection measures including:
    • Penetration Sealing: High-spec installations of bat and mastic to strict manufacturer-tested details.
    • Access & High-Level Work: Safely utilising powered access machinery to install fire protection in high-level areas.
    • Structural Fire Protection: Installing fire-rated boards and fire curtains within structural openings and ceiling voids.
    • Specialised Safety: Working efficiently and safely in restricted access areas, strictly adhering to site-specific safety protocols.
    • Compliance & Precision: Ensuring 100% compliance with build specifications, understanding that your work directly impacts structural safety.

What We're Looking For

  • CSCS Card: A valid CSCS card is a mandatory requirement.
  • IPAF Ticket: Must hold an in-date IPAF card (Categories 3a & 3b) for operating powered access platforms.
  • Confined Spaces Ticket: Highly preferred (but not strictly essential) due to the nature of some specialised areas on site.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience in the application and installation of batt, mastic, curtains, and boarding.
  • Right to Work: Must have a valid right to work in the UK.
