Our client, a growing Building Services Consultancy, is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their team. This is a fully remote position; however, applicants must be located within a maximum 2-hour door-to-door commute of Central London to allow attendance at occasional client meetings, design workshops, and project reviews when required.
The Role
Working as part of a multidisciplinary design team, you will be responsible for delivering electrical building services designs across a range of commercial, residential, education, healthcare, and mixed-use projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing schemes from concept through detailed design stages.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience delivering projects through RIBA Stages 2-4 (Mandatory)
- Experience within a Building Services Consultancy environment
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- Strong technical design experience including:
- Power distribution
- Lighting and emergency lighting
- Small power systems
- Fire alarm systems
- Data and communications infrastructure
- Earthing and lightning protection systems
- Proficiency with industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux/Relux, Amtech, or equivalent
- Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and relevant British Standards
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Responsibilities
- Produce electrical calculations, specifications, reports, and technical drawings
- Develop and coordinate designs through RIBA Stages 2, 3, and 4
- Attend client, design team, and project coordination meetings
- Liaise with architects, mechanical engineers, and external stakeholders
- Support project delivery within programme and budget constraints
- Contribute to sustainable and value-engineered design solutions

- Candidates must live within 2 hours of Central London (door-to-door commute)
