About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and committed Senior Residential Support Worker to join our 3-bed Children's Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) Home in Sale. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a small, child-focused service dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where young people can thrive.
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs, leading shifts, mentoring staff, and ensuring high-quality care is delivered consistently.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead shifts and support the day-to-day running of the home.
- Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people with EBD needs.
- Build positive, trusting relationships that promote emotional wellbeing and personal development.
- Support children with education, appointments, recreational activities, and independent living skills.
- Implement care plans, behaviour management strategies, and risk assessments.
- Safeguard children and promote their welfare at all times.
- Complete accurate records, reports, and incident documentation.
- Administer medication in line with company policies and procedures.
- Support, mentor, and guide Residential Support Workers during shifts.
- Work closely with external professionals, families, and the management team to achieve positive outcomes.
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) - essential.
- Previous experience working within a Children's Residential Home.
- Experience supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
- Experience leading shifts or taking on senior responsibilities within a residential setting.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
