We are currently seeking an experienced M&E Site Manager to join a major National Grid substation project at Indian Queens. This is a key site leadership role on a live transmission infrastructure project, requiring a strong background in mechanical and electrical delivery within the electricity transmission sector, alongside proven National Grid authorisations and substation experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly competent Site Manager with experience working across 66kV-400kV substations, overseeing safe and efficient project delivery within a heavily regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day M&E site operations on a live National Grid substation project
- Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements
- Manage subcontractors, site teams, and coordinate project activities
- Maintain compliance with National Grid transmission procedures and site safety requirements
- Ensure adherence to CDM regulations, HSE legislation, and project documentation standards
- Support delivery in line with NEC contract frameworks
- Monitor quality, progress, and safe systems of work throughout project execution
- Liaise with project stakeholders, engineers, and delivery teams
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with transmission construction methodologies
Essential Requirements:
- National Grid Competent Person - NSI 6 & 8 Full MUST hold current National Grid Person authorisation
- Previous or current TP137 authorisation
- Impressed Voltage Awareness
- Proven experience working on 66kV-400kV substations
- Strong understanding of National Grid transmission procedures
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification
- SMSTS / CITB
- NEBOSH or IOSH
- Temporary Works Supervisor
- HSG47 (or equivalent)
- 3-Day First Aid
- NEC contract knowledge
- Strong knowledge of HSE legislation
- IT literate
- Manual Handling
Desirable:
- Extensive experience delivering M&E packages within the electricity transmission sector
- Strong stakeholder and subcontractor management capability
- Proven background on live National Grid infrastructure projects
