We are currently recruiting a reliable and experienced Preboarder to join a major housing development project in Newcastle. This is a long-term opportunity to work on a large site, supporting the smooth progress of construction through essential preparatory and finishing tasks.
Role Overview:
As a Preboarder, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces and areas for boarding, assisting with the installation of plasterboard, and carrying out general site duties to support the site team. Your role is critical to maintaining workflow efficiency and ensuring high-quality finishes throughout the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing walls, ceilings, and other surfaces for boarding (cleaning, smoothing, and ensuring surfaces are ready)
- Assisting plasterers and other trades with materials and tools
- Cutting and fitting plasterboard panels as needed
- Carrying out site housekeeping to maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Following site management instructions to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely
- Reporting any issues or delays to site supervisors promptly
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role on housing or construction sites
- Reliable with excellent timekeeping and the ability to commit long-term
- Ability to work under direction and follow health and safety guidelines
- CSCS card is essential
