Location: Barnsley, S73 0UN | Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:30am-4:30pm (flexible working considered)

About the Role
Reporting to our People Officer, you\’ll be a key player in supporting our employee relations activity and ensuring our HR operations run smoothly. You\’ll be the go-to person for absence management, occupational health coordination, and first-line HR support.
Your day-to-day will include:
* Managing absence processes: return to work interviews, AWOL tracking, fit notes, and documentation
* Supporting disciplinary, grievance, and appeal processes with accurate letters and minutes
* Coordinating occupational health appointments and welfare calls
* Assisting with wellbeing initiatives aligned to absence trends
* Providing first-line HR advice to managers and colleagues
* Maintaining HR inboxes, trackers, and KPIs

What We\’re Looking For
Must-haves:
* Strong admin skills and attention to detail
* Experience with HRIS and time & attendance systems
* Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
* CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience
* Working knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
Nice-to-haves:
* Exposure to low-level ER casework
You\’ll thrive in this role if you\’re organised, self-motivated, and confident working independently with managers and colleagues alike.
