Search Consultancy is looking for a skilled and experienced Shuttering Joiner to join a major construction project in Northumberland. We are seeking a professional who specialises in formwork and structural timber, prioritising precision and structural integrity in a fast-paced environment.

Comprehensive Role Specification

The successful candidate will be responsible for the construction and installation of formwork to hold setting concrete. Key responsibilities include:

  • Formwork Fabrication: Building and assembling timber or metal shutters, including specialised pans and systems for walls, columns, and slabs.
  • Reading Blueprints: Interpreting detailed technical drawings and specifications to ensure the accurate placement of formwork.
  • Structural Support: Installing internal bracing, tie-rods, and shoring to ensure formwork remains rigid and secure during the concrete pour.
  • Detailing: Creating precise openings for doors, windows, and service penetrations within the shuttering.
  • Striking & Cleaning: Carefully removing formwork once concrete has set (striking) and maintaining equipment for future use.
  • Compliance: Adhering strictly to Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations and ensuring a clean and safe working environment at all times.

Requirements

  • Valid Blue CSCS Card: Skilled Worker (Formwork/Joinery).
  • Full Tool Kit: Suitable for all aspects of shuttering joinery.
  • Full PPE: Hard Hat, High-Visibility Vest/Jacket, Steel Toe Boots.
  • Proven Experience: On large-scale civil engineering, commercial, or residential concrete frame projects.
