Are you a skilled Wall & Floor Tiler looking to secure a high-earning rate on a prime commercial development in Tyneside? Search Consultancy is recruiting an experienced Ceramic Tiler for an active commercial contract in Newcastle upon Tyne. Paying a top-tier 25.00 per hour (CIS), this role offers excellent site continuity and high weekly hours for a detail-oriented tradesperson capable of delivering clean, high-spec commercial finishes.

If you hold a valid Blue or Gold CSCS card, take pride in precise substrate prep and flawless tiling layouts, and want top market pay with an established regional main contractor, we want to hear from you.

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Working alongside interior fit-out supervisors and drylining teams, you will execute commercial wall and floor tiling across washrooms, communal areas, and feature spaces:
  • Substrate Preparation: Checking surfaces for level and plumb, priming substrates, and applying tanking/waterproofing membrane systems where required.
  • Ceramic & Porcelain Installation: Setting out, cutting, and laying ceramic, porcelain, or vitreous wall and floor tiles strictly to architectural drawings and layout specifications.
  • Precision Cutting & Fitting: Scribing and executing clean, accurate cuts around pipework, drainage outlets, sanitary ware, electrical outlets, and expansion joints using wet saws and rail cutters.
  • Adhesive & Grouting: Mixing and applying appropriate adhesive beds for commercial traffic, as well as grouting, silicone sealing, and dressing movement joints to a pristine, uniform standard.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensuring consistent tile gaps, seamless alignment, flat planes (no lipage), and keeping finished surfaces clean and free of adhesive residue.

What We're Looking For

  • CSCS Card: A valid Blue (Skilled Worker) or Gold (Advanced Craft / NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Wall & Floor Tiling) CSCS card is strictly mandatory.
  • Trade Background: Proven track record in commercial wall and floor tiling (ceramic, porcelain, vitreous).
  • Tools & Kit: Full professional tiling tool kit (wet tile cutter, manual rail cutter, notched trowels, laser levels, sponges/buckets) and standard 5-point PPE.
  • Transport: Reliable transport to commute to the commercial site in Newcastle upon Tyne daily.
  • Right to Work: Valid proof of right to work in the UK.
