Search Consultancy is looking for an experienced and meticulous Floor Layer to join our team for a long-term contract across major commercial and residential projects in Newcastle. We are partnering with premium interior fit-out contractors who value flawless finishes and professional reliability.

Your Role & Responsibilities
- Surface Preparation: Inspecting subfloors, applying screeds, smoothing compounds, and installing ply-boarding to guarantee a perfect foundation.
- Product Installation: Measuring, cutting, and laying a wide range of floor coverings including luxury vinyl tiles (LVT), safety flooring, vinyl sheets, and commercial carpets/carpet tiles.
- Precision Finishing: Executing flawless welds on vinyl sheet joints, installing cap-and-cove skirting, and fitting transition strips.
- Blueprint Translation: Reading and interpreting interior layouts and scale drawings to plan material layouts efficiently and minimise wastage.
- Quality Assurance: Upholding high standard finishes that match the strict design requirements of Tier-1 contractors.
What We're Looking For
- Blue CSCS Card (Skilled Worker): A valid flooring/finishing CSCS card is required.
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in commercial or high-end residential floor laying, with strong skills in subfloor prep and hot welding.
- Reliability: Looking for a professional with a track record of excellent attendance, punctuality, and commitment to a long-term project.
- Tools & PPE: Must have a full, specialised kit of floor-laying tools and standard 5-point PPE.
