We are looking for a dedicated Deputy Manager to join our children's residential care team in Melksham, supporting the delivery of exceptional care and a warm, nurturing environment for young people.

The Role

As Deputy Manager, you will work alongside the Home Manager to support the effective running of the home and ensure young people receive consistently high-quality care. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working alongside the Home Manager across all aspects of running the home, including compliance, safeguarding, quality assurance and financial planning.
  • Leading and inspiring the team through supervision, appraisals, professional development and training.
  • Managing the home effectively in the absence of the Registered Manager.
  • Ensuring the home provides a safe, welcoming and homely environment.
  • Maintaining high standards of care and supporting positive outcomes for young people.
  • Managing health and safety procedures and risk assessments.
  • Ensuring team training remains up to date and compliant.
  • Liaising with professionals and contributing to effective care planning.
  • Acting as a positive role model for looked-after children.

About You

We are looking for a compassionate, motivated and confident leader with experience in children's residential care.

Essential Requirements

  • Full UK manual driving licence.
  • Level 3 qualification in the Children's and Young People's Workforce.
  • At least 1 year's experience as a Senior Residential Care Worker in a children's home setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • The ability to build trusting relationships with staff and young people.
  • The ability to act as a positive role model for looked-after children.
  • Genuine care and compassion for working with children and young people.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, sleep-ins and bank holidays.
