Search Consultancy is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for an exciting opportunity for an experienced UK Logistics & Inventory Co-Ordinator. This is a fantastic role for a highly organised and detail-focused logistics professional with strong UK freight forwarding and stock control experience.
Working closely with the warehouse and wider operations team, you will be responsible for managing freight movements, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring excellent service delivery to customers across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate competitive UK freight rates with suppliers and carriers.
- Arrange and manage inbound and outbound UK freight bookings.
- Provide freight cost information to the design team to support customer quotations.
- Maintain and update shipping schedules, ensuring accurate expected and actual delivery dates.
- Provide weekly shipping updates to UK customers.
- Prepare and issue all relevant customer documentation, including Certificates of Conformity (CoCs).
- Support inventory management and conduct monthly rolling stock takes alongside the warehouse team.
- Oversee and coordinate UK rental equipment and stock movements.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure operational efficiency and exceptional customer service.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
- Proven experience within a logistics, freight forwarding, inventory, or stock control role.
- Strong UK freight forwarding experience.
- Excellent IT skills, including Outlook and Excel.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- International freight forwarding experience.
- Experience implementing or working with inventory management systems, particularly Point of Rental.
Package
- Salary: £35,000 - £37,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- 40-hour working week.
- Flexible working hours in line with business requirements.
- 30 days annual leave, including bank holidays.
- Statutory pension scheme.
- Six-month probation period.
Location
Based at the client's offices in the Edinburgh area, with occasional travel to customer sites and suppliers as required.
