We are looking for an experienced Transport Operations Controller to join our team in Livingston and play a key role in ensuring our customers receive a seamless 5-star delivery experience.
As Transport Operations Controller, you’ll lead the transport function within a busy Distribution Centre. You’ll be responsible for managing people, vehicles, processes and compliance - ensuring delivery of a safe, efficient and customer-focused operation.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Ensuring vehicles are legally compliant, safe and well maintained - including inspections, repairs and routine servicing.
- Managing and monitoring driver qualifications and ensuring all required training is up to date.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with legal and company requirements.
- Supervising waste disposal and maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Leading, coaching and developing the team to optimise performance and drive high standards.
- Supporting the handling, movement and storage of goods to maximise warehouse space and minimise damage.
- Managing delivery schedules, fleet utilisation and staffing to ensure timely and cost-effective operations.
- Ensuring Health & Safety standards are met, driving a culture of safety throughout the site.
- Producing operational reports covering distribution activity and delivery performance.
- Handling customer enquiries and complaints effectively to maintain exceptional levels of satisfaction.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a Transport Operations Controller or similar role within a distribution or logistics environment.
- Transport Controller CPC qualification.
- Strong people leadership - able to motivate, coach and develop a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to delivering first-class customer service.
- A team player with flexibility to work occasional Saturdays or evenings when required.
