About the Role
As a Legal Secretary, you will provide essential administrative and secretarial support to fee earners across the department. You will help ensure the smooth running of day‑to‑day operations, supporting case progression and maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Document Production: Preparing, formatting, and amending legal documents, correspondence, and forms.
- Audio Typing & Dictation: Transcribing digital dictation and producing accurate, timely work.
- File & Case Management: Opening, maintaining, and closing files in line with compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Client Liaison: Acting as a first point of contact for clients, handling enquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Diary & Schedule Management: Organising appointments, meetings, and court dates for fee earners.
- Administrative Support: Managing incoming and outgoing post, scanning, filing, photocopying, and maintaining accurate records.
- Billing & Financial Tasks: Assisting with billing, time recording, and financial administration.
- Communication Handling: Managing telephone calls, emails, and correspondence with clients, courts, and third parties.
About You
- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or strong administrative background within a professional environment.
- Excellent typing skills and confidence with digital dictation.
- Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks.
