Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior / Lead Commissioning Engineer to support delivery on the Creag Dhubh transmission project. This role is suited to a seasoned commissioning professional with a strong track record operating at lead level within UK HV transmission environments.
Role Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' experience operating as a Lead Commissioning Engineer
- 20+ years' experience within HV transmission substations
- Proven experience commissioning primary and secondary plant up to 400kV
- Strong background working on UK transmission projects (National Grid / SSEN preferred)
- Extensive knowledge of commissioning procedures, safety rules, and live substation environments
Responsibilities:
- Leading commissioning activities across primary and secondary systems
- Overseeing protection and control testing and validation
- Managing and signing off commissioning documentation
- Coordinating with SAPs, engineers, and client representatives
- Supporting energisation, fault finding, and system integration
- Providing technical leadership and guidance on site
