The Role:
This position will play a key role in delivering efficient, accurate bookkeeping services and supporting clients with digital tax compliance. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing VAT returns and financial accounts
- Assisting with payroll and PAYE
- Processing digital tax submissions (Making Tax Digital - MTD)
- Handling purchase invoices, credit notes, and ledgers
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
- Managing payment runs in line with company policies
- Supporting general finance admin tasks and liaising with clients
The Ideal Candidate Will Be:
- Experienced in bookkeeping, accountancy, and taxation
- Confident using Xero
- Familiar with Making Tax Digital (MTD) processes
- Comfortable supporting payroll
- Ideally experienced in accountancy practice (not essential)
- A team player who enjoys a supportive, sociable work culture
- Loyal, trustworthy, and committed to building long-term professional relationships
- A background in agriculture is desirable but not required
