We are thrilled to be recruiting for our rapidly expanding Packaging Manufacturing client, based in beautiful North Wales. We are looking for a multi-skilled Engineer with supervising skills to join the business and lead a team of 2 Engineers and who can recruit for an additional 2 Engineers to join the team. Your Primary Duties
- To ensure that all plant & equipment is safe for use & is being used safely.
- To ensure that all necessary equipment is available & correctly set up at the start of each run & swiftly resolve machine related problems that arise during production runs.
- Through a planned maintenance programme to ensure that plant, equipment & buildings give optimum economic performance.
- To maintain accurate records of all aspects of the engineering function to meet legal & customer requirements.
- To develop in collaboration with Production dept, work aids, jigs etc to enable increased production.
- To purchase all engineering supplies at optimum prices.
- On completion of any work to ensure that all equipment & surfaces are thoroughly cleaned & left ready for the next line set-up.
- To advise on sourcing & purchase of new plant & equipment.
- To develop & implement a training & monitoring programme for all subordinates.
- Liaise with the management team to ensure that equipment is available to facilitate the production schedule.
- Be able to discuss engineering issues with customers during factory visits.
- In conjunction with Production management, to effectively deliver training on machine operation to all staff.
Your Skills and Ability:
- Competence in electrical & engineering disciplines.
- Organisational ability to optimise use of the labour & equipment resource available.
- Analytical abilities to examine & assess engineering issues.
- Display positive leadership qualities.
- Be able to identify where engineering solutions could be applied to problem areas in all other departments.
Organisational Ability, GMP & EMS:
- Ability to prioritise and organise the engineering department work load to meet the requirements of the department and the business as a whole.
- To comply with the Company's GMP Standard and wear the appropriate work wear correctly.
- To maintain the workplace in a clean and tidy condition.
- Ensure that they comply with the Company's Environmental policy.
Your Qualifications and Experience:
- Time served engineering apprenticeship (NVQ or above).
- C&G 18th Edition Electrical (preferred).
- COMPEX certified (preferred).
- C&G PAT testing certificate.
- Computer Literate.
- Knowledge of process/manufacture/packaging equipment for consumer goods.
