The Role - Fibre Installation Technician
- Installation of fibre cables on customer properties by pulling/blowing cables through underground networks from cabinets or chambers.
- Soft excavation works through gardens and clearing blockages where required.
- Liaise with customers to agree routing before starting any work and ensure a positive experience throughout.
- Work on the overhead network when needed and complete internal cabling, including fitting customer equipment.
- Test all installed equipment, confirm full functionality, and guide customers on how to use their new service.
- Work in pairs in the field and report to the field supervisor or installation lead.
We’re Looking For
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with confidence working in customer homes.
- Comfortable working at height and carrying out manual labour tasks.
- A full UK driving licence is essential for this field-based role.
- Ability to follow safe working practices, including disclosure checks as part of the selection process.
- Previous fibre or telecoms experience is welcome, but full training is provided.
