We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a major HV substation project on the NeuConnect scheme. This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-term project with one of the UK's leading engineering organisations, working on critical transmission infrastructure. The successful candidate will become part of an established site team carrying out mechanical installation works while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out mechanical installation activities on HV substation projects
  • Work safely in accordance with all site health, safety, environmental and quality procedures
  • Complete work to programme and report any issues or delays to the Site Supervisor
  • Support the completion of task cards and required project documentation
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, chargehands and fellow trades on site
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship throughout the project

Essential Experience:

  • Previous mechanical fitting experience within HV substations, transmission, power generation, oil & gas or heavy industrial environments
  • Experience working on National Grid, SSE, SPEN or similar utility projects
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining a strong safety culture
  • Experience reading and working from mechanical drawings is desirable

Essential Qualifications:

  • Apprentice Trained or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent Mechanical Qualification)
  • CSCS Card or CCNSG Safety Passport
  • ROTO Ticket
  • National Grid Person
