The Role
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join the site team at the Neu Connect project.
The successful candidate will assist with mechanical installation activities and work as part of a site team, reporting to the Site Supervisor or Chargehand.
You will be responsible for carrying out mechanical installation activities safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards, while following all site procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical installation activities as directed by the Site Supervisor or Chargehand.
- Work in accordance with site QEHS procedures and site rules.
- Complete allocated task cards within the required timescales.
- Work to the standards and timescales set by the Work Party Leader.
- Identify and highlight any potential delays or issues in advance.
- Follow all Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
- Assist with project documentation where required.
- Work effectively both as part of a team and independently when required.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship throughout the project.
- Carry out other duties within your competence as directed by the Site Supervisor.
Requirements
- Apprentice trained, with City & Guilds or minimum NVQ Level 3 in an appropriate discipline, plus at least 1 year's relevant experience.
- Alternatively, industry-recognised training with a minimum of 2 years' experience working as part of a team on an Electricity Supply Industry construction site or similar environment.
- Experience within power generation, oil & gas, utilities or general construction environments is beneficial.
- Previous experience working within a substation or electrical infrastructure environment.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements.
- Able to work effectively within a team and independently when required.
Required Qualifications
- CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport.
- NG Person Ticket.
- Authorised Welder ticket required for this project.
