Office Administrator (Part-Time, Temp-to-Perm) in Wishaw. £14.20-£15.00 per hour. Hours: Flexible working, 20-25 hours per week, ideally Monday and Friday, although flexibility can be offered with hours.

Our client, a well-established transport company based in Wishaw, is looking for an Office Administrator to join their team on an initial temporary basis, leading to a permanent role. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role and thrives in a busy office environment.

We're ideally looking for someone with previous experience within transport, haulage, construction, or plant hire, although this is not essential. Candidates with strong office administration experience from other industries will also be considered. This role would suit someone who is immediately available or has a short notice period.

The Role:

  • Providing day-to-day office administration support to ensure the smooth running of a busy transport office.
  • Handling incoming calls, emails, and customer enquiries, while liaising professionally with customers, drivers, and suppliers.
  • Coordinating job bookings, scheduling, and providing general administrative support to the wider team.
  • Supporting finance administration including raising invoices, processing supplier payments, bank reconciliations, and maintaining accurate records using Xero.
  • Managing customer accounts, resolving invoice queries, chasing outstanding payments, and assisting with credit control activities.
  • Supporting payroll administration, recording staff holidays/absences, and assisting the external accountant with general accounts administration.
  • Processing card payments over the phone, maintaining accurate records, and carrying out general account housekeeping.
  • Managing general office duties including ordering stationery and office supplies, maintaining organised systems, and providing ad hoc support as required.

About You:

  • A proactive self-starter who can work independently whilst also being part of a team.
  • Organised, reliable, and detail-oriented.
  • Confident, personable, and comfortable communicating with a variety of people.
  • Computer literate and confident using office systems.
  • Experienced using Xero.
  • Experienced in a similar office administration / office assistant role.
