About this role

Every recruiter says they've got great client relationships. We can actually prove it. Our driving and logistics clients across the central belt of Scotland have stuck with us for years, because we consistently deliver the people they need. But we're not looking for someone to simply manage what's already there, we want a Recruitment Consultant with the drive to build on it, spot new opportunities, and win new business across the sector.

Search is a leading multi-discipline recruitment agency, backed by private equity and on an ambitious growth trajectory across our 13 specialisms and offices UK-wide. Joining our Industrial and Driving team, based in either our Glasgow or Edinburgh office, you'll work on permanent logistics vacancies across the central belt of Scotland and down to Carlisle and Newcastle, with a genuine mix of long-standing relationships to build on and real scope to grow your own client base.

If you've got a track record of perm recruitment into the driving and logistics sector, a genuine appetite for business development, and want to build your career with a business investing heavily in its future, this is the platform to do it from.

Why join us?

  • Work across the central belt of Scotland, Carlisle, and Newcastle, with a mix of established relationships to build on, and plenty of scope to win new business.
  • Join a business backed by private equity with genuinely ambitious growth plans, real investment, and real opportunity to grow your career alongside it.
  • Grow your career with a clear development plan, backed by award-winning training and 1:1 coaching from our dedicated Talent Development team.
  • Join a down-to-earth, driven team that celebrates success; from axe throwing and fine dining to our annual European getaway for top performers.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage the full permanent recruitment process for transport and logistics clients, from taking the initial brief through to offer and placement.
  • Build, nurture, and grow relationships across the central belt of Scotland, Carlisle, and Newcastle, both with established clients and new business you bring on yourself.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities across the driving and logistics sector, using market knowledge, networking, and a genuine appetite for sales.
  • Source, screen, and interview candidates for permanent roles including Transport Coordinators, Transport Managers, and Transport Planners.
  • Manage the end-to-end candidate journey, providing a high level of service and keeping candidates engaged throughout the process.
  • Keep accurate records on our internal CRM, tracking vacancies, candidates, and client activity.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience as a Recruitment Consultant within the permanent driving, transport, or logistics sector.
  • A genuine appetite for business development, comfortable picking up the phone, networking, and winning new clients, not just managing what's already there.
  • A strong track record of managing the full permanent recruitment process, from client brief through to placement.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence at all levels, from candidates through to senior client stakeholders.
  • A proactive, resilient mindset, comfortable working to targets and managing a varied desk.
  • A full, UK Driving licence to allow you to visit clients and arrange face-to-face meetings.

How you'll benefit

  • A lucrative, uncapped commission structure that rewards your performance.
  • Car allowance (Senior Consultant and above).
  • Access to premium recruitment tools, including industry-leading job boards.
  • Full back-office and marketing support, so you can focus on what you do best.
  • Comprehensive, ongoing training and development from our award-winning Talent Development team.
  • Option to buy or sell holidays via salary sacrifice.
  • Quarterly and Annual HighFlyers events, plus our annual European getaway for top performers.
  • EV car benefit scheme and cycle to work scheme.
  • Retail, gym, and lifestyle discounts, plus financial wellbeing support through Tastecard.
