We are recruiting an experienced Mechanical Fitter to support mechanical installation activities within a site‑based team environment on a major industrial energy project. This role is working within a structured site team and reporting directly to the Site Supervisor or Chargehand.

The Role: The successful candidate will assist with mechanical installation activities, ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently and in line with Siemens Energy QEHS procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out mechanical installation activities as directed by the Site Supervisor
  • Work to all applicable QEHS procedures and site induction briefings
  • Adhere to agreed timescales and proactively flag potential delays
  • Comply with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality plans
  • Assist with documentation and milestone deliverables
  • Complete allocated task cards within required timescales
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of timesheets and expenses

You will be expected to maintain a strong duty of care for yourself and others, ensuring safe working practices at all times.

Pay Rates:

  • First 37 Hours: £29.12 per hour
  • After 37 Hours / First 4 Saturday Hours: £30.87 per hour
  • After 4 Hours Saturday / Sunday / Bank Holiday: £33.65 per hour

PAYE:

  • First 37 Hours: £21.54 per hour
  • After 37 Hours / First 4 Saturday Hours: £22.84 per hour
  • After 4 Hours Saturday / Sunday / Bank Holiday: £24.90 per hour

Experience Required:

  • Apprentice trained C&G / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent recognised industry qualification)
  • Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience OR Industry recognised training with minimum 2 years' experience on Electricity Supply Industry construction sites or similar (Power Generation, Oil & Gas, General Construction)
  • Experience working within substation or heavy industrial environments is highly desirable.

  • For Construction Projects: CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport
  • Manual Handling
  • Working at Height
  • Fire Safety Awareness

Client-Specific (Desirable):

  • SSE / Scottish Power / NG Person BESC
  • NG Competent Person NSI6
  • NG Competent Person NSI8 (Limited)
