Search are supporting the recruitment of a Finance Assistant to join our client\’s finance team in Midlothian with flexible working options. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone looking to broaden their experience across both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable while working in a supportive environment.

About the Role
As Finance Assistant, you\’ll play a vital role in keeping the finance function running smoothly. You\’ll take ownership of invoice processing, reconciliations, payment runs and credit control, while also supporting a variety of wider finance and administrative tasks. If you enjoy variety, take pride in accuracy, and like being part of a close-knit team, you would be encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process purchase invoices
* Check, code and reconcile supplier invoices
* Liaise confidently with suppliers to resolve queries
* Raise sales invoices and support credit control activities
* Manage internet orders and customer portal invoicing
* Reconcile bank, PayPal, SumUp and Amex transactions
* Prepare weekly payment runs
* Maintain accurate customer & supplier records
* Manage the accounts inbox and respond to internal/external queries
* Support month-end reconciliations
* Assist the wider business with general office-based tasks as required
Skills and experience you\’ll ideally have:
* 3+ years\’ experience in a finance or accounts role
* Strong understanding of AP & AR processes
* Experience with Accounting systems
* Good Excel skills and attention to detail
* Highly organised, proactive and reliable
* Comfortable communicating with suppliers, customers, and colleagues
* Positive, team-focused attitude
