Search Consultancy are delighted to be supporting a fantastic company based in Kirkcaldy who are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join a small and supportive team. This is a hands-on role responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, alongside broader finance support duties when required.
- Processing weekly and monthly payrolls
- Managing third-party deductions (including pensions and similar schemes)
- Maintaining accurate holiday and absence records
- Ensuring ongoing compliance with payroll legislation
- Preparing annual payroll returns
- Performing balance sheet reconciliations
- Handling ad-hoc payroll and finance queries
- Providing cover within the team during holiday and absence periods
- Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and automation
- Supporting wider finance and administrative duties as required
Previous experience in a payroll or similar finance role is essential. A solid understanding of payroll legislation and strong Excel and general IT skills are required. Part-qualification or progress toward a finance/payroll qualification is advantageous.
