Search Consultancy are delighted to be supporting a fantastic company based in Kirkcaldy who are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join a small and supportive team. This is a hands-on role responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, alongside broader finance support duties when required.

  • Processing weekly and monthly payrolls
  • Managing third-party deductions (including pensions and similar schemes)
  • Maintaining accurate holiday and absence records
  • Ensuring ongoing compliance with payroll legislation
  • Preparing annual payroll returns
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Handling ad-hoc payroll and finance queries
  • Providing cover within the team during holiday and absence periods
  • Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and automation
  • Supporting wider finance and administrative duties as required

Previous experience in a payroll or similar finance role is essential. A solid understanding of payroll legislation and strong Excel and general IT skills are required. Part-qualification or progress toward a finance/payroll qualification is advantageous.
