Search are supporting the recruitment of a Cashroom/Finance Assistant to join a leading firm in Edinburgh on a permanent, full-time basis with hybrid working. You will be at the heart of the firm’s financial operations, managing client and office account transactions and ensuring compliance with key regulatory standards.
This role gives you exposure to a wide range of finance tasks in a professional, collaborative environment. If you’re looking for a role where your accuracy and initiative make a real impact that offers flexibility and career development, you would be encouraged to apply.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Allocate and process bank receipts for client and office accounts
- Set up and review electronic payments
- Ensure AML checks are completed before processing payments
- Process accounting transactions including payments, receipts, transfers and bill payments
- Investigate and resolve unmatched items from daily bank reconciliations
- Prepare and submit cheque and cash banking
- Run monthly client account interest calculations
- Maintain accurate electronic filing for audit purposes
- Support annual audit cycle and contribute to process improvements
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience as a Legal Cashier or in a high-volume finance role
- Knowledge of Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and HMRC VAT regulations (advantageous)
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
- A proactive, "can-do" attitude and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with stakeholders
