About the Role
We're currently recruiting reliable, hardworking Kitchen Porters to join busy kitchens across the Edinburgh area. You'll play a key role in supporting chefs and front-of-house teams to keep operations running smoothly in restaurants, hotels, catering venues and staff canteens.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and cutlery efficiently and safely.
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation as required.
- Ensure hygiene and food safety standards are always met.
- Handle waste disposal and recycling in line with site procedures.
- Support infection control and safe food-handling practices in care home and healthcare settings.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter, Catering Assistant, or Cleaner in hospitality or care environments is desirable but not essential.
- A current PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) certificate is highly advantageous, or willingness to apply for one - having a PVG makes you eligible for care home placements and demonstrates your suitability for working with vulnerable adults.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
- Proof of right to work in the UK.
