We are currently recruiting for an experienced Finance Assistant to join our client's finance team in Alexandria. This role supports payroll and will also provide wider support across the finance function. It would suit someone who enjoys working with numbers, values accuracy, and takes pride in maintaining well-controlled financial processes.

Payroll calculations are completed by an external bureau; however, you will be responsible for managing the payroll process internally. This includes ensuring accurate data submissions, meeting deadlines, and acting as the first point of contact for payroll-related queries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the monthly payroll process for 500+ employees
  • Maintain and manage the Time & Attendance (T&A) system
  • Prepare, check, and submit accurate payroll data to the external payroll bureau
  • Act as the main point of contact for employee payroll queries
  • Ensure payroll information relating to absences, benefits, and pensions is accurate and up to date
  • Liaise with internal departments and the payroll bureau to resolve queries and discrepancies
  • Support month-end finance activities, including reconciliations and reporting
  • Assist with general finance administration, including invoice processing and data entry
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of payroll and finance processes and controls

About You:

  • Previous experience in a Finance Assistant role, ideally within a medium to large organisation
  • Confident working with payroll data and strong Excel skills
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently and managing deadlines
