An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at a prestigious hotel. This is a fantastic chance for a Sous Chef to work across a variety of dining experiences and build from scratch a new reputation for dining with complete creative freedom.

The Head is looking for a Sous Chef to work alongside him and manage the team while building a new and exciting reputation and name for the location and yourself. Both the Sous and Head Chef have full control and freedom over suppliers, budgets, dishes and menus.

The Role

Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key role in the day to day operation of the kitchen, ensuring consistently high standards while supporting the development of an innovative and exciting food offering.

  • Supporting the delivery of a high quality, creative food offering.
  • Maintaining food safety standards and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.
  • Managing kitchen rotas alongside the Head Chef to meet staffing and cost targets.
  • Taking responsibility for allergen compliance, team training and food safety procedures.
  • Assisting in the achievement of financial and operational objectives.
  • Leading by example in a fast-paced, professional kitchen environment.

About You

You will be a passionate and motivated chef with:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Food Preparation (or equivalent).
  • Food Safety qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in a Sous Chef or similar leadership role.
  • The ability to thrive under pressure in a busy kitchen.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, ingredients and kitchen operations.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work on your own initiative.
